For us, beauty emerges not only from the sublime, but also from the everyday, the imperfect, and the overlooked. Rather than replacing, we seek to reinterpret and transform, reshaping perception and revealing latent value - a genuinely sustainable approach.

Design for us is not a fixed formula, but a fluid, responsive process. It adapts
seamlessly across scales and typologies, engaging with the economic and
social realities of each project. We embrace complexity and turn structural challenges
into tools of creative expression - designing spaces that respond meaningfully to the
ruptures and tensions that shape the built world.

Since our founding in 2008, Mila has grown through an ongoing dialogue between concept and construction - translating strong ideas into built form. In collaboration with our partners, we create spaces that are sensual, precise, and alive.

people
Mila unites a passionate team of architects, designers, and engineers, led by Jakob
Tigges. Jakob studied architecture, urban design, and the sociology of communication in Aachen, Rome, and Berlin, and later expanded his perspective with management
studies at the London School of Economics. His professional path has taken him
through offices in Rotterdam, Madrid, and Berlin, and into academic roles, teaching
Urban Design at TU Berlin and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
