Ethnological Museum & Museum for Asian Art

The non-European collections of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation were finally to be brought from peripheral Dahlem to the core of the city and to be exhibited in the immediate vicinity of the European collections on the Museum Island. The new home of the Ethnological Museum and the Museum of Asian Art is the Humboldt Forum in the form of the reconstructed Berlin City Castle.

For that purpose, we have designed a large display depot, in which not only the visitors move through the exhibition, but also the exhibits travel through the collections, to be experienced in changing contexts. In a clear demarcation from the style of the architectural shell our proposal has won the 1st prize in the ideas competition for the redesign of the museums in the Humboldt Forum.
