Blockdammweg Medical Centre
The medical center on Blockdammweg marks a kink in the streetscape between the Parkstadt district, characterised by its brick-clad residential buildings, and an adjacent allotment garden colony. In this exposed position, the building assumes a distinctive hinge function within the urban fabric, mediating between its contrasting contexts through materiality and form.
Developed from the inside out, the structure follows an efficient, layered organisation that optimises spatial use while providing a high degree of flexibility for medical practices of varying layouts and potential growth. The interplay between internal organisation and external urban articulation results in a striking, recognisable form that contributes to a clear identity and orientation within the neighbourhood.
